Kristen is doing awesome. Moving slowly.
Steven leaves at 4 a.m. tomorrow to go skiing for several days. Pray for safe travel for all of the K-life crew. Pray for rich fellowship with the other K-life groups from Columbia and Conway. Pray for safe snowboarding, skiing. May this fun time lead to a deeper relationship with our Lord. If you are looking for a group to support I pray you would consider K-life. Please visit http://fayetteville.klife.com/ . K-life is a non-profit, self funded organization reaching out to our young people. It is a way to bring that excitement and passion that the young people feel from attending a Christian camp to every week. Although it is a spin-off of sorts from Kanakuk camps, it receives no funding from them. As are many non-profits, K-life is in need of additional funding to meet their budget for the year. Prayerfully consider a year-end donation.
So back to Christmas Memories. As parents, we will go to almost any length to make sure our kids get that special Santa present. Kristen was probably 5 the year that she told me a few days before Christmas that Santa was going to bring her a pair of white cowboy boots with a silver star on the side. She had seen them in the Stride Rite store in Tulsa, OK around Thanksgiving. Devin and I had no idea that she had 'asked' Santa for these boots. Time for Santa to scramble. He looked in every Stride Rite store in Texas. No boots. He looked in the stores in Wichita, KS on the way to Grandma's. No boots. Finally one of his elves thought to call the store in Tulsa on December 23rd. Since Santa can preform miracles, this elf was able to get the boots overnighted to Grandma's house for Santa. Kristen woke up Christmas morning ecstatic because she knew Santa would bring her the boots!
Lucky for us Steven has always communicated with Santa better. No scrambling necessary. Merry Christmas!
