Drama Drama Drama

It's good to be home. There really is nothing like sleeping in your own bed.

With all the good news yesterday, I totally forgot to tell you about the drama. So Kristen and I packed on Thursday night in the hope that we would get to fly home on Friday. We had made airline reservations but were ready to change them if necessary. We catch the shuttle from the apartment to the clinic. No problems there, I have a backpack and carry on with all of our clothes and medicine. 50% of it was the medicine! We get to the clinic for labs and all is going well. I run down to get my coffee and some breakfast for us. When I get back, Kristen said that she tried to stand in line for vitals but she got a little dizzy so was going to wait until there was no line. As we are talking I manage to knock over my large coffee. I didn't even get to drink any of it. :0( The line finally gets down to 1-2 people so Kristen goes and gets in it. I look over and she looks at me and shakes her head that she's not feeling good. I jump up with my new coffee (not the good Starbucks kind but a little free one from around the corner in SCT). I get to her about when one of the vital signs ladies is free. As I'm walking her in, she passes out! I'm holding her up with one hand and coffee in the other! I manage to set the coffee on a counter and the vital signs tech and I get Kristen into a chair as she starts calling for a nurse. Kristen is out cold and starting to slide out of the chair. All of the sudden there are 5 nurses standing around her and they lay her out on the floor. She finally comes to. They take her pulse and blood pressure and they are OK. They get a gurney and put her on it to take her to one of the examination rooms. They ask what she had for breakfast. I cringed because all she had was milk and Oreos. Not my choice for her I assure you. They get her some Gatorade and I pull out a granola bar for her to eat. At least this all got us in to see the doctor an hour before we were scheduled to see him! He said we could go back to AR for the weekend. But I had to have a wheelchair for her at all times. I was totally freaking out and was ready to punt on the trip home! It all worked out well though. We were able to catch an earlier flight and maximize our time here at home. And we were able to pre-board and all because of her wheelchair!

It was definitely a sigh of relief to be home after all of that.
