Summer Reading and Hobbies

As you get ready to pick up your great summer books to read, think about reading a children's book. I just finished the Olympian series by Rick Riordan. I enjoyed reading about Greek mythology the way it was presented here. I encourage you to pick up something your children are reading or find an old childhood favorite.

I'm also going to work on some cross-stitch and embroidery. I used to do these things a lot but got out of the habit. I did a fabulous (if I do say so myself) farm scene that hung in Steven's room when he was a child. I enjoyed the challenge of french knots. These are both things that I used to do as a child. If I get really ambitious I might learn to properly knit or crochet. My sister tried to teach me but...I wasn't a very patient or attentive student.
