So two weeks until Christmas. I thought I'd revisit Christmas's past. These will be random memories with no order to them. Just for fun. Oh and I won't swear to the accuracy of my memories.
Kristen and I were talking about some of our best Christmas gifts. Hers was a Barbie house from her Uncle Bland. One of mine was a Barbie airplane. (Like mother like daughter?) I believe that I got it from Grandpa and Goldie. I remember that we would go to church on Christmas Eve where they would retell the Christmas Story and have a live nativity. I might have been a Shepard or something one year. I do remember being little and standing up front to sing Christmas songs that we had practiced for weeks. We had some great choir leaders. After church we would go over to Grandpa and Goldies. I always looked forward to Goldies haystack goodies. You know the kind made from the Chinese noodles. Oh and she always had divinity I think. I really didn't like divinity. Goldie had one of those silver Christmas trees. The kind that is considered retro now. I wish I had that tree. Remember how the trees went together too? The had color coded 'stems' that you would insert into the pole then wrap wiry 'pine' around the wood so you wouldn't see it. The year I got the Barbie plane I just remember being so excited. It folded out and came with a cart and little dishes so that you could walk up and down the aisle serving the passengers. I think I ended up playing with that until it fell apart. Now Barbie would be a pilot. Back then she just aspired to be a stewardess. I remember those evenings as lots of fun filled with laughter and silliness. We would go home exhausted.
