It's a Small World

I just finished reading a book I picked up sometime in the past year called Death by Rhubarb. I was surprised in the first few sentences to see that it was set in Kansas City. It's always fun to read a book that is set in familiar territory. You feel like you are more a part of it. It was written by a Kansas City food writer/Cafe Lulu owner. When I picked it out from paperbackswap I was just attracted to the title. I'd read the series by Diane Mott Davidson featuring caterer Goldy Schulz and enjoyed those. So, I thought I'd see if I'd like this one by Lou Jane Temple. Pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised. I like the fact that these books include recipes. Not that I ever make any of them but I could if I wanted. The main character even attended Kansas State University. So if you are looking for a pleasant mystery and quick read you might pick up one of her books.
