Perfect Harmony

I often comment about music. Music really affects me. Sometimes songs just hit a spot in your heart that you weren't expecting. Yesterday we sang Come to the Lamb by Barry Collecutt. This excerpt of the lyrics is playing in my head today.

And all I desire is You
So I come to the Lamb
I come to Your throne
I come to the One who was slain for my soul
I bow down my head
I bow down my heart
I lift up my life Lord please set me apart
Lord take me deeper
Lord draw me closer

You know, I don't have the best singing voice. My poor hearing kind of makes me a little off key. But, when I sing these words, and my heart feels these words, I seem to have the most beautiful pitch. When the words echo a desire of your heart they are pure and beautiful. Maybe those around me don't hear it that way but God does. He hears the desires of your heart.

I believe that this really struck a chord with me because of the devotional I read before going to church. It said, "When we are consciously aware of being used as broken bread and poured out wine, we have yet another level to reach - a level where all awareness of ourselves and of what God is doing through us is completely eliminated." God is so good. I get to church and we sing this song and then we celebrate Communion. I felt that in that moment the desire of my heart and His will were in perfect harmony.
