If you remember, several weeks ago I mentioned reading the book The Happiness Project. I had no idea how that would play out in our situation today. One of the things I think about is to "act the way you want to feel". I want to not focus on the negative and concentrate on the positive. So instead of dwelling on the negatives of where we find ourselves, I remind myself on how blessed we are. I see the wonderful nurses, doctors, and support staff. I see the fact that Kristen is feeling well. I give thanks for the fact that we found a nice apartment quickly. I thank God for laughter. I thank Him for each day I get to be one on one with Kristen. I thank God for the fact that Steven is such a great kid that I don't have to worry about him having less supervision. (Okay, I have to brag on him. On Monday they had a Boy Scout Court of Honor and Devin wasn't going to get home in time to make the side dish that they needed to take. Devin sent Steven to the store to get the ingredients and then had him make it. He NEVER cooks when I'm around. Why bother when mom can do it?) I thank God for all of you that are doing little things to help Steven and Devin back home. Try this in your own life. We don't have to be in crisis to give thanks. Just change your focus. Life is too short to dwell on negative. Focus on the good and (to quote Ellen DeGeneres) Live, Laugh and Dance. Okay I'd through love into that too.
May God bless you and keep you. Now and always.
