As Thanksgiving approaches I am overwhelmed by all blessings for which my family has to give thanks. I want to first give thanks for each and everyone of you who have lifted my family up in prayer and who continue to lift us up. We can never fully express what it has been like to know that family, friends and strangers have prayed for you. Below is a list of just a few of the blessings for which I give thanks. It is far from complete.
-Kristen's remarkable recovery from AML and her successful transplant.
-Timing of Kristen's diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Two weeks from initial blood work to receiving treatment at MD Anderson.
-Existence of a remarkable facility such as MD Anderson. The amount of expert knowledge and cutting edge treatments are astounding.
-The wonderful caring professionals we have encountered along the way; Dr. Magre and her staff, Dr. Beck and the staff at Highlands Oncology, Washington Regional and the Infusion Center, Dr. Kadia and his staff, Dr. Popat and his staff, and all of the Doc's, nurses, and staff on the 9th floor and 11th floor at MDA. I'm sure I left a few out.
-Our pastors and staff at Central. Their phone calls, prayers, and presence. You would be in awe of all they do in caring for a large congregation.
-The friends who stepped in to carry us through with their various gifts. Meals, prayer, car rides, phone calls, and many many other ways.
-God for His infinite wisdom in preparing our way, providing for needs before we even knew we had them, and for turning this difficult time into a blessing.
